This project was final project in Design Concepts from my Spring 2020 semester in Rome, Italy. While completing my studies, I also had the chance to travel around Europe with some of my best friends, to this day. I ended up getting truly inspired by all of the architecture and history of different parts of the world, so I wanted to incorporate that into it. I was able to experience different cultural aspects in each country. My final project brief was to create a collection via Photoshop and create as you pleased. I took inspiration from the idea of getting lost in a different country and finding love. Throughout the time with said love, exploring and discovering herself and the world is how she has been perceived. Connecting this with ethical reflection proves that I exemplified the real-world issue of self-discovery and lack of confidence throughout today’s society. To be yourself unapologetically is hard to come across because of social media as well as the ideal body they show you. This class allowed me to dig deeper into the meaning of my work as well as show me what type of creations I enjoy the most. With being a Graphic Design minor, this project was something I love doing, so implementing this into my major was my favorite thing. This experience abroad did actually lead me to finding love and the beauty behind any turn showed me the truth behind any person, as well. Allowing my work to interpret the global context of Rome being such a beautiful yet historic city has been my favorite adventure of all.
